Course Description
Section Planners who have achieved the SP01, SP02 and SP03 competences to level 3 can attend the SP04 Optimise Maintenance Plans course (or use self-study materials, depending on their experience). They can achieve level 2 by completing a final assessment. Level 3 is obtained through submission of evidence.
The course builds on the first three Section Planner competences and focuses on optimising the use of access and resources. It develops their knowledge and appreciation of other planning roles and long term planning processes. It enhances their skills in key planning tools such as PPS and stresses the importance of aligning your job bank with your access footprints including the process of smoothing MSTs.
