<p>Before attending this course, you MUST have completed the Fundamental Level Crossing Systems eLearning which can be accessed via the Network Rail eLearning platform.<br />

Please note, if you have not completed this course (along with the other mandatory pre-requisites listed below) you will be turned away from this event.<br />

In this course you will be introduced to level crossings, the different types and how they operate, the maintenance and faulting procedures.<br />
<br />
The following are mandatory prerequisites to undertake the initial development:<br />
<br />
• Basic Electrical Safety for Signal Engineering (Sig.42) or equivalent<br />
<br />
• Introduction to Level Crossings Equipment eLearning (please note that this is different to the Fundamental Level Crossing Systems eLearning)</p>

Course Description
<p>This eLearning MUST be completed before attending the 1-day practical course - Fundamental Level Crossing Systems.<br />
<br />
In this course you will be introduced to level crossings, the different types and how they operate, the maintenance and faulting procedures.<br />
<br />
The eLearning course will cover the following theory elements:<br />
• Level crossing orders, ground plans and signalling plans<br />
• The different types of level crossings<br />
• Inspecting and maintaining level crossing equipment<br />
• Diagnosing and repairing basic faults on level crossing equipment</p>
<p><br />
After completing this eLearning, you will then go on to complete a 1-day practical course which will cover the maintenance tasks and fault finding.</p>
