Course Description

<p>This eLearning provides the pre-requisite for all additional Signalling Power courses and is comprised of 5 modules.<br /> <br /> Module 1 aims to build on your current knowledge of safe working practices on and around the electrical equipment which forms the signalling power distribution system.<br /> <br /> Module 2 will help you to understand Live and Dead working on or near signalling power distribution equipment above 175 V AC in accordance with NR/SPS S001.<br /> <br /> Module 3 will help you to understand the Live Working requirements in accordance with NR SPS / S002.<br /> <br /> Module 4 will help you to understand the Isolation of Electrical Supplies in accordance with NR/ SPS S003 and the basic isolation procedure.<br /> <br /> Module 5 will help you to understand how to safely access equipment housings and the entry and exit procedures contained within NR/SPS S004</p>

Audience

Frontline D&P maintenance staff ranging from an Operative all the way to a Section Manager. Does not award a competence and is recorded on Oracle Training Event The pre-requisites for this course are: Distribution & Plant / Works Delivery - Plant 01 at Level 3, or Signalling/ Signalling Works Delivery - SIG 42 at Level 3, or Telecoms - TEL 03 at Level 3, or Capital Delivery - Equivalent to SIG 42 at Level 3, as assessed by the CRE. For Signalling maintenance and works delivery personnel, there is NO requirement to complete the SPS 01 awareness course if SIG 42.02 is held at Level 3.
