<p>Signal Engineering Maintenance (SEM) 2 covers of the following individual courses over a 15 day period: A) Cables and Power Supplies FLMF (STF 025) B) Working on Operational Signalling Equipment (STF 007) C) Track Circuit DC FLMF (STF 030) D) Electrical Signals (Inc AWS) FLMF (STF 011) Additional competencies that will be awarded following SEM2, which will not be awarded on the individual courses are: A) Sig. 23 B) Sig. 23.01 C) Sig. 24. Personnel who are responsible for the maintenance, faulting, repairing or testing of the signal engineering equipment.
- Successful completion of Signal Engineering Maintenance 1
- At least 3 months workplace experience in a signal maintenance / faulting / installation or testing environment.
Competence Name Awarded:
Undertake corrective and preventative maintenance of Track Circuits + DC type
Undertake corrective and preventative maintenance of Electrical Signals including AWS and TPWS.
Undertake corrective and preventative maintenance of Signalling Power Supplies + Signalling Cables.
Undertake initial diagnosis of failures to determine the necessary course of action + Fault Finding
Ensure effective progression of work and use of resources during signalling testing, maintenance or installation activities.
Take and relinquish responsibility for Signalling equipment.
Implement and monitor safe working systems for signal engineering maintenance and renewal activities.
